Wooden Teeth & Jelly Beans: The Tupperman Files (Flying Rhinoceros. Presidents)

The Best Book
Years ago, when I was 9 years old, my mother bought me "Wooden Teeth and Jelly Beans" so that I could learn about our country's presidents. I loved the book so much, I took it everywhere and read it almost everyday. I could name all the presidents in order and add an interesting fact about each one. I am now 15 and have since lost this great book, and I am here to spend my own money to buy another. I loved this book so much and I'm sure that your children will love it too and learn so much from it.

Can't miss with young children!
We bought this book when on vacation and it was wonderful. Our girls (then 8 and 5) spent hours reading facts about the presidents. They delighted in coming up with question that their father and I could not answer. It's great because it contains little facts about our presidents without having to read long paragraphs. I am currently looking to buy another copy as ours was lent to someone - never to return again.

The 1970s (America's Decades Ser)
Published in Paperback by Greenhaven Press (April, 2000)
Author: Mark Ray Schmidt
Average review score:

A manageable approach for introducing the 1970s.
Books in the "American Decade Series" are designed to give its readers a glimpse of American history decade by decade. "The 1970s" is no exception. Historians often balk at the amateurish approach of presenting history decades by decade. While this approach may be somewhat simplistic, it can serve as an excellent teaching method for introducing new material to students.

"The 1970s" starts with a well rounded introduction, it then presents its thirty essays, or chapters from other books, on various issues prevalent in the 1970s. These topics are further broken down into international issues in the 1970s, national issues in the 1970s, environment, energy, and automobiles in the 1970s, popular culture in the 1970s, women's issues in the 1970s and from the 1970s into the future. The makeup and selection serves as a well-balanced approach to understanding the decade. No particular area is over represented. Each essay includes a brief bio of the writer. Additionally, the book is well served with an excellent chronology of events, recommendations for further study and an index. At 320 pages, "The 1970s" is a good choice for honor students in high school or possible a good textbook for a college level course on 20th century America.

wake up and save the pavement
A satire worth reading. The author brilliantly lets us know what is happening to our planet. We should be aware. Can we save the planet. Maybe if more people would read this book we'd have a chance.

You will find where we are.
Owning a double status as a medical practicer, especially an anesthesiologist, and a chief in the Union of Kaohusiung Medical University Medical Industry, I was often confused between the general practice of health care for patients and helping my medical team or members in union strike with our administers for improving our working conditions. Where is the appropriate answer or reference for me to explore the health care system or industry filled with confliction and hope. The diversity of notion from Albrecht GL and those specialist in social studies in health and medicine, tell me how to converge wisdom from our ancestor and courage from union members to fight with the inequable and conservative medicine society. Medical quality, which both health care workers and people have looked for long long ago, has just become a vague term under efficiency of management but for make money. Patients lost their autonomy of body and health care workers sacrifice with their mind and physical vigor to accomplish the so-called medical science. This book is good for those who want to comprehend the changing medical society and health care system, and advantageous for me to precipitate the experiences as a anesthesiologist and the union cadre when I was fired by the engagement committee of Kaohsiung Medical University Hospital in 2001.6.8.

One of the Best
Ray Stedman is one of the great men of the 20th century. Pastor of the Peninsula Bible Church for half a century, he was the author of more than 30 books. He brought a fresh and vital understanding to the Bible and influenced countless men and women with his ministry, including Chuck Swindoll, who said "Ray Stedman is what I want to be when I grow up." This book is a wonderful introduction to Ray and his marvelous teaching. My wife and I have given many copies to friends. All of Ray's sermons can be yours free at pbc.org.
